Fishing Time

Spring time is fishing time!

Spring Flowers

I love all the little flowers that come up to say hello in the spring. I can't wait for the orange tulips to open. Maybe tomorrow. My neighbors probably wonder what on earth I'm doing squatting around in my yard with my camera.

Mini Quilt Finished At Last

I recently finished this mini quilt. I have had it for months and just never got around to completing it. Always some other project that took priority. It feels good to complete a project that has been hanging over my head. Now that it is complete, what to do with it. Maybe sit a bowl or lamp on it??? Hummm, we'll see.

Flowers

I love those little pansies in the spring. When I was a child I always thought they looked like little monkey faces. Still do. And I love, love, love red geraniums! It may be a little early for the geraniums, but maybe they will be ok since they are under the shelter of the porch.

Vintage Linens

Paula King, a friend we worship with at Westwood, gave me these wonderful vintage linens from her stash. I have them carefully laundered and pressed and displayed on a rack in our home. Paula knew that I LOVE hand embroidered vintage linen and she was so gracious to surprise me with these. Thank you so much Mrs. Paula, I love, love, love them!!!! She also gave me some vintage lace that I have all washed and ready to carefully press. This lace will be great on some handmade baby things. I may post a picture of the lace later, after I find time to press it all.

Tomorrow is the first day of spring! Yippee! I love the budding of the trees and blooming of the spring bulbs! God is so good to show us the different seasons. It is so refreshing!

Hand-smocked Bishop Dress

Just in time for Easter! I have completed this white hand-smocked bishop dress (size 6 months) and it ready to sell. It is constructed of white Imperial batiste(the lighting in the photo makes it look ivory but it is snow white) and smocked in baby blue. I have also smocked a tiny green vine between the first two rows and it is embellished with tiny baby pink french knots. The price is $50. Please contact me if you are interested.

This weekend's projects

Things I have worked on this weekend include a set of burp cloths for Susan Bain for a an upcoming baby shower. Susan I really appreciate your order. The monogrammed tote bag is for Shannon Hamilton's mother. Thanks so much for the order Shannon. I hope your mom likes it.

The denim bag was ordered by Whitney Arnold for an upcoming baby shower. Isn't Breelyn such a precious name? I just love it. I only know one other Breelyn, but she actually is called "Bree" by her mom, Wesley. Thanks Whitney for the orders you have given me! Also thanks to Christy for the monogram orders recently. The "A" monogram looks so pretty on the cream color quilted fabric. I'm sure the diaper bag you are making will be too cute!

Monogram Project

I monogrammed this blanket and burp cloth that a friend ordered for a baby shower Sunday afternoon. I hope you like these!

Happy Birthday Kirsten!

Today was Kirsten's 8th birthday! She celebrated with a "Hello Kitty" party. She had a great party but it would have been better if her Daddy and brother Bailey could have been there. Chris stayed home to take care of Bailey who has had a horrible stomach virus since Wednesday. They didn't want to share those germs with all the party guests. Kirsten received lots of great gifts, including an American Girl "Kirsten" doll from us. Kirsten was actually named after that doll, so it seemed a "must have" for her. Happy Birthday Princess! We love you!

Sunday Morning Snow

We had a beautiful snow when we awoke Sunday morning. I stuck my camera out the back door to try to take a few snapshots. The snow looks so peaceful...but it was sooooooooooo COLD! It was pretty, but I'll take those 70 degree temps that are forcasted for this weekend. I can't wait!
