More weekend pix...

I wonder if Leticia paid to have Bubba's name on a billboard?

A few fly fishing lessons at Orvis

We got some personal lessons from a professional guide / teacher!

We had a good time but it's really hard to catch anything
in a parking lot!

One More Picture from Cades Cove...

Weekend Getaway!

Cabin in Cades Cove

Cades Cove

This little guy would have gotten in the car with anyone
that would have let him. He was too tame. I think
someone has been feeding him.

A sampling of the deer we saw. They were gorgeous.

Nothing else on earth like a weekend in the Smokies! We attended the Hackney Food Show, shopped till we dropped, went down the HUGE waterslide at Wilderness At The Smokies (not once but TWICE). We drove through Cades Cove Sunday afternoon. It's so beautiful along that 11 mile loop.

Happy Thursday!

OK - so I admit I didn't monogram this myself.
Yes, it is Martha's. I love switching these out each day!
Our grandson, Bailey, got to participate in the assembly
this morning at his school. He was so excited to get to be
a part of the program. He's the middle of the three children
at the microphone. Good job Bailey, we love you!
A wedding gift for Rachel. I hope she likes her apron!
Maybe she won't see this before I have a chance to
give it to her.

I monogrammed this piece for Christy.
She is going to make a diaper bag out of it.
Thanks for the order Christy!

Have a wonderful Thursday!
Blessings, Patty

Quick Project

I stitched together this pillow last night. I had
done the embroidery a couple of weeks ago and
finally got around to making the pillow. The black
lines are hand-embroidered and the color was
added with acrylic paint using a VERY dry brush.
Such a fun project!

Good Sunday Afternoon...

This country store has been around as long as I can
remember. Formerly, it was know as Hubert Hillis'
Grocery, I believe. Here it is seen from Riverside
Cemetery, just across the street.
Peeking through the dogwood trees...

Riverside Cemetery is located in a part of town known
as Depot Bottom to all the locals. I hope you have a
lovely Sunday!

Sunday Afternoon

Riverside Cemetery is such a lovely place in the spring...
with all the dogwood trees in bloom...

a quiet place to visit and collect yourself. Just a good
place for a quiet stroll. Have a lovely Sunday afternoon!
Blessings, Patty

A Walk In Our Yard This Afternoon

The river behind the house is very full after all the rains...
I'm not sure what kind of flowers these are...

Azaleas are beginning to bloom...

And the dogwood trees too...

and a few yellow daisies that make me think of Daisy Cottage.
Do you ever just walk in your yard just to relax after a day at work?
Blessings,
Patty

Ma's Rolling Pin

My grandmother's (Ma's) rolling pin is one of my prized possessions. You can tell from the pictures that it was hand-carved. Not one of those store-bought versions, like mine. However, I received mine as a wedding gift 29 years ago. So I guess mine is an antique as well. I actually used Ma's to roll out the dumplings Easter since I had loaned mine to Julie. It doesn't "roll" as good as mine. It seems to have an almost flat spot on it. It felt nice to actually use it. I wondered what all Ma had used it for. Probably dumplings, pie crusts, biscuits, etc. If I close my eyes, I can just smell all the fresh baked things. Do you have a rolling pin that is a family heirloom too?

For Me and for You!

A monogrammed tea towel just for me. That is unusual. Most of the time it is something that someone else has ordered. Want one? Just leave me a comment on this post. If you don't have a sign in, just send me an email at pattyb@benlomand.net I will draw for one free one with your choice of letter and letter color. Keep checking to see who the winner will be. ;-)

A work in progress...

I am working on a size 12 month hand-smocked bishop as a surprise for someone. I should be finished in a day or two. I need to add a few pink rosebuds then finish the construction of the dress.Depends on how busy my evenings become this week as to when I will finish. I'll be sure to show you the finished product.
