My grandmother's (Ma's) rolling pin is one of my prized possessions. You can tell from the pictures that it was hand-carved. Not one of those store-bought versions, like mine. However, I received mine as a wedding gift 29 years ago. So I guess mine is an antique as well. I actually used Ma's to roll out the dumplings Easter since I had loaned mine to Julie. It doesn't "roll" as good as mine. It seems to have an almost flat spot on it. It felt nice to actually use it. I wondered what all Ma had used it for. Probably dumplings, pie crusts, biscuits, etc. If I close my eyes, I can just smell all the fresh baked things. Do you have a rolling pin that is a family heirloom too?
