Tea towel and matching apron. These are the same fabrics I used in the apron I made for Linli. I just switched up the order a bit to show more of the pink floral fabric.

Vacation 2011

Post office at Seaside, Florida...

Shopping at Seaside...

A few too many concrete mermaids made it in the photos...

Kirsten, Bailey (forced to be in the photo and not happy about it) and Julie...

Sweet pickles...

The cutest grocery store ever. Grocery shelves all the way to the ceiling. There was a wooden ladder that slid along the wall to reach the groceries...

Bailey drooling over the huge cakes...

I'm lovin' these crocheted and knitted hats! I especially love the sock monkey pirate one! I'll be on a mission to sharpen my crochet and knitting skills. I'm nowhere near ready for making these...

I regret not making photos of the library at Seaside. It reminded me of the quaint library in the movie "You've Got Mail". Maybe next time.

Terry and me at Panama City Beach...

Me and Terry with the giant peanut at the Dothan,AL visitor center (which was closed much to Bailey's dismay)...

There was a light show every night on the water outside the condo...

Shower gift...

Brenda's Retirement

Brenda was given a seasonal Dutch doll quilt by the accounting department. Tammy McKinney's mom (her name has left me at the moment)is responsible for this beautiful quilt. The back of the quilt was very cute also. It was made of blocks with stick people that represented the different personalities of the accounting group. (Should have made a photo of the back - but I didn't) Brenda had wanted a "picnic" so we chose to use a red and white check theme with sunflowers and canning jars.

"We Will Miss You Clint"

While you are away in China for the next year remember that you are loved by your whole family! May the Lord bless and keep you.

They fell in love...

Clint and Linli fell in love and in May he proposed to her. :-) We're all so excited for them. The wedding date isn't set just yet. May the Lord bless them and keep them. We all love them both so much!

Life is busy

Things have been so hectic lately. I have been sewing and monogramming like crazy and forgetting to photograph most of what has gone out my door lately. There have been lots of baby showers, not to mention a bridal shower and graduation. Oh, how I wish I'd made photos to share. I have aprons on my mind. My friend made the cutest apron for the bridal shower Sunday and I'm wanting to finish up my current sewing so that I can make a few aprons. Aprons are one thing that I adore. I love them all. Especially the happy, fun fabrics that the designers are coming out with these days. And speaking of fabric, do you have a favorite fabric designer? Go over and check out the blog "bee in my bonnet". You won't be sorry. Some of the most adorable fabrics, aprons and quilts you'll ever find. Lots of eye candy there! (This is probably my only post since I started my blog that doesn't include a photo of something!)

Happy Birthday Terry!

Terry celebrated his birthday yesterday. He spent the day fishing with Clint (we have lots of fish in the freezer now). Clint had to go back to Murfreesboro for a class but the rest of us had dinner... Julie and her gang got Pop the cutest "fish" cake at Publix.

Felted Wool

Back a few months ago I attended a "felted wool" class taught by the ever-so-talented Cheryl Hitchcock. The class fee was to raise money for Cheryl's relay for life team. We had a wonderful time while she taught us the basics of felted wool. I started making this purse but never finished it after the class. Tonight I decided to complete it so I could put the bag of supplies away without feeling guilty. I used a wool sweater purchased at Goodwill ($3) and the red flowers are made from a wool blazer purchased at the Senior Citizens Center thrift store($1.50). Pretty cool for a first effort. Next I want to try something using the wool roving. More on that later.I suppose I will have to put the purse away until next fall before carrying it. It is spring you know! But...I'll be prepared when the weather is right ;-)

For Chloe Marie...

We were out of town this weekend and didn't return in time for me to attend the shower for soon to arrive Chloe Marie Cathcart. I would have loved to be there. A hand-smocked bishop dress, an owl teether, and a burp cloth was my gift...

Another gift for Chloe was a flannel blanket with a hand-crocheted scallop trim and two personalized burp cloths from Nancy McNeal...

Thanks so much for the order Nancy. I hope Lisa liked it!

Our Easter Gathering...

Our Easter menu consisted of:
Chicken & Dressing
Dumplings
Baked Ham
Baked Fish (caught by Terry especially for Linli)
Steamed Vegetables
Creamed Potatoes
Green Beans
Broccoli Casserole
7-Layer Salad
Mac & Cheese
Deviled Eggs
Cranberry Sauce
Lemon Cupcakes (by Kirsten)
Strawberry Cake
Banana Pudding

And I must say that nobody, and I mean nobody, left hungry!
Well if they did, it was their own fault.

Bailey and Kirsten made a mad dash for the eggs when the egg hunt began.
Even Clint & Linli got in on the egg hunt.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family
and getting to know Linli more with every visit.
